To comply with the current legislation on data protection we must tell you what personal data we hold about you, why we hold it and have your permission to retain it. We hold data about customers to ensure that we can contact them by mail, telephone, email or text:
• in an emergency
• for booking information

What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you become a customer of Ashdown Cattery.
For the smooth running of Ashdown Cattery and to comply with the terms of our licence we need to keep a record of:
• Your name
• Your address
• Your landline and mobile numbers
• Your email address
• Contact details of another responsible person in case of emergency
• The details of your pet(s)
• The name and telephone number of your veterinary surgeon

What do we use your information for?
We hold your information to ensure the smooth running of Ashdown Cattery and to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for your cat(s). We also have to hold some data to comply with the terms of our licence.

How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. We must retain your records for a minimum of 3 years beyond the boarding dates. The maximum retention time we use is 6 years from date of last stay. If for any reason you no longer wish for your data to be held by us, please advise in writing. All information held on paper and no longer required will be shredded, and electronic data will be deleted.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, or protect ours or other’s rights, property, or safety. Your cat’s photo and name may appear on our Website or Facebook page, we will never use your family name in any posts.

Your Consent
You will be asked to sign a consent form on arrival at the cattery. If you do not wish to sign the consent form, then unfortunately we will be unable to accept your cat for boarding. Please contact us to discuss any concerns you may have.

Changes to our Privacy Policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page.
